Retreat in Daily Life: “Searching for the Light”
Description
This Retreat in Daily Life takes place between 16 April - 23 May 2012. Each week you meet individually with a trained retreat guide for 30-45 minutes (at a mutually convenient time). All those doing the retreat meet together at the start (16 April) for a time of greeting and orientation (see details below), and again at the end of the retreat.
This retreat takes place as part of ordinary life. It is open to all - no particular experience of prayer, belief or retreats is required. All you need is a desire to know yourself and the Divine more, and a willingness to take time to pray and reflect within busy lives.
The Retreat in Daily Life is an opportunity to:
• Take ‘time out’ to be refreshed and refocused
• Find new meaning, or a new way of being
• Explore what darkness and light mean to you
• Deepen your relationship with God
• Try out new ways of praying
• Find help with any kind of decision.
Real change in our world does not happen easily with governments or organisations; it has to begin with individuals; if we change, we affect those around us, and if we all change, the world changes. This retreat is about saying yes to a process of transformation.

Additional information
The role of the ‘prayer guide’: Each week during the ‘Retreat in Daily Life’ you meet individually with a prayer guide. The starting point for your conversation with your guide is your own felt-experience in life and in prayer. Guides are not advice-givers but rather, will listen carefully, and help you to discern for yourself what is emerging within you; what is helpful to you, and what hinders. The conversation is confidential.
