Cityspace: Spaces to breath and reflect in the city of Edinburgh

Getting Involved

If our values resonate with you please don’t hesitate to get involved with Cityspace!

Tell others

Cityspace is designed to be a gift to people in the city – so feel free to pass on our web address to people you know who might appreciate the resource. There are also business cards available for handing out to others. For a pack of 20 cards, please get in touch. You can also ask to request occasional email updates by signing up to our mailing list link, or using the RSS feed to be alerted to any site updates.

Become a Cityspace Friend

If you are interested in reflective events and spaces being nurtured in the city, and would like to support the initiative, please get in touch. Friends of cityspace may want to offer prayer and/or financial support. Email updates will be sent to you mapping the developments of Cityspace.

Become a Cityspace Partner

Organisations, churches and groups who offer reflective spaces or events as part of their involvement in the city, are invited to become Cityspace partners. Cityspace will then promote these events/spaces on the website alongside others located in Edinburgh. Partner organisations may also appreciate the opportunity to work with other Cityspace Partners on collaborative projects.

Because Cityspace is dependent on donations, each Partner is invited to make an annual financial contribution to sustain the website and promotion materials. A guideline of £180 per year is suggested, but is not intended to be prohibitive.

Any contribution a Cityspace Partner is able to offer, would be much appreciated. Partner organisations automatically receive business cards to promote the website.

Cityspace Glossary

Definitions of some terms used on this website:

  • Reflective - on this site 'reflective' refers to space, events or conversations which provide a place for someone to freely explore what is happening for them rather than one in which they are told what is happening in/to them or what should be happening in/to them.
  • Spiritual conversation - on this site 'spiritual conversation' refers to a conversation that is focused on exploring a person's relationship with God/ the Transcendent/ Mystery (however they may conceive God). Spiritual conversation encourages reflection on this interaction or relationship, and explores how this impacts the way they live and make choices
  • Trained prayer/spiritual guide - on this site 'prayer/spiritual guide' refers to someone that simply listens and accompanies a person as they explore how God/the Transcendent is acting in their life. Cityspace advocates that these guides are trained and receive ongoing supervision.
